Lets look at some delicious no-cook combinations that are not only healthy but satisfying as well.

Mango Yogurt

If you have ever purchased mango yogurt form the store you will know how delicious it is. Fortunately you can easily make your own with little more than a finely cut, ripe mango mixed through unsweetened natural yoghurt. If your baby isn’t a fan of chunky pieces puree the mango before combining with the yoghurt.

Natural yogurt combines well with just about any puree. You are only limited by your own creativity. Just don’t go overboard adding too much yogurt to your mixtures and you will almost be guaranteed of a tasty meal.

Banana and Avocado

I can already  imagine some of you reading along screwing up your face as you read that.  I know that these are not two ingredients that are commonly mixed together but the results are actually quite tasty. While you can simply mash the two together with a fork, a lovely mouse like consistency is reached if you puree in a blender or food processor.

Pear and Strawberry

The success of this mixture relies on you picking a ripe and juicy pear.  The tartness of the strawberry helps balance out the sweetness of the pear resulting in a pleasant but unusual flavor. Be mindful that using a pear that is not ripe enough will result in a sour meal that your baby will almost certainly refuse.

Kiwi Fruit and Cottage Cheese

Mash kiwi flesh through a small amount of cottage cheese for an unusual flavor sensation. Make sure that your kiwi is so ripe that it has to be eaten almost immediately. Similar to yogurt, cottage cheese can be mixed with a variety of different fruit purees, particularly the sweeter kind. Be sure to experiment, you may just find your baby’s new favorite meal.

Mango and Baby Spinach

Most vegetables require cooking before they can be considered tasty and as a result do not make the best no-cook baby food ingredients. However, you can sneak greens with sweeter fruits such as mangos and your little baby will be none the wiser. Baby spinach can be fibrous and will need to be pureed with the mango before being served to your baby.

As you can see no-cook baby food relies on two things:

Soft, ripe ingredients
Your imagination
So next time you are in a hurry skip the pre made baby food. Simply have a glance around your kitchen, chances are you already have everything you need to make your baby a quick but wholesome meal.
