Something you must know for using baby car seats
2017-07-07 09:27:51
Car crashes are the number one killer of children between the ages 1 to 12 years old in the world wide. Car seat inspections offer drivers the chance to receive assistance and guidance from certified car seat technicians regarding proper installation of their child safety and booster seats.

A new National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) survey shows that parents are making five significant mistakes when using and installing car seats and booster seats:

Harness straps used to hold the child in the car seat were positioned either too low or too high.
Harness chest clips were either not being used at all or being positioned over the abdomen instead of the chest.
The car seat was being installed too loosely, so the restraint system moved more than two inches side-to-side or front to back. Movement of more than one inch is too much.
Harnesses were too loose, with more than two inches of total slack between the child and the harness strap. There should actually be NO slack.
The seat belt placement was wrong, with the lap belt resting over the stomach and/or shoulder belt on the child's neck or face.
